Austin comes to me and is co-owned by Therese Fleming of Dogwood Kennels in Monroe, Louisiana. Many thanks to Therese for allowing Awesome Austin to live with me.
Austin is an incredible Sheltie. On top of being amazingly handsome, he's smart as a whip and has a marvelous sense of humor. He has a zest for life that is unmatched and is happiest when he's by my side and coaxing me to play or just love him. He's also not your typical Sheltie. There is nothing reserved about him at all. He loves meeting new people and thinks everyone he meets is just as happy to see him as he is to see them. Because of this enthusiasm, he has a more than a few adoring fans.
Austin competes in agility and has already earned his Novice, Open, and Excellent A Jumpers titles. He loves to play the game and gets very excited when he knows it his turn. Watch for him as he was born with springs in his legs. If I can keep up with him I feel he will go far in the sport.
Austin is also my service dog. There doesn't seem to be anything he can't be taught to do. He picks up anything I drop without being told to and is learning to retrieve things by name. He was certified in this endeavor November 8, 2007. Many thanks to Allie Keaton of My Service Dog Inc. for helping us to accomplish this goal. He loves being a Service Dog and having the ability to go everywhere with me. He is such a valuable help to me as two back surgeries have left me unable to bend over and pick things up. I would be lost without his help.
